One interesting thing: Obama seems to indicate (repeatedly) that he watches talk and cable news shows. I'm sure Rush was somewhere "pleasuring himself" when he heard that.

The economy just shed another 600,000 jobs in January. For everyone who wants to nitpick about the stimulus package, fall back.

You can't cut taxes and help people who ain't working. Yeah, I know about the EITC loopholes, but don't miss the forest for the trees. You have to spend money to get us out this hole. Period.

No, the stimulus package isn't perfect, but what gov't legislation ever is? Reality is, doing the same thing (hey, just cut taxes!) and expecting a different result is the very definition of insanity. And BTW, the stimulus package does contain taxcuts. Did the GOP somehow overlook this when they were on their "European-style socialis" rants?

A "different" type of leader would have stood behind that podium and told us errythang is fine, and to go "to a ballgame". Obama's not that dude. He's telling it like it is, and it ain't pretty. But it's what we need to hear.

Everytime I start questioning whether or not this guy knows what he's doing, he comes out and hands me a tall glass of STFU. Clearly, he knows what he's doing.

I'm not saying things are gonna get better anytime soon, but with a real leader at the helm, at least we've got a chance.
