Grand Hu$tle?!? - Slap Chop.

You've seen this ad, with its obnoxious, overcaffienated host who looks like Chad from The Mad Real World, busting nuts (no, seriously, listen to the clip around the 0:54 mark. hilarious) and onions left and right. The Slap Chop looks like the ultimate time saver for bootleg gourmets.

"You're Gonna Love My Nuts!" [||]

But does it actually work?

What follows is a fairly representative opinion culled from numerous product review websites. Their words, not mine.
"The Slap Chop actually lived up to the late-night hype. I made myself a batch of nachos in about two minutes; most of that time was used finding all the veggies in my fridge. I even wiped down the blade in the minute that the nachos were sitting in the microwave. I have to say I’m quite impressed with the food chopper. And the cheese grater was fantastic for pasta dinners."

"As for this product and this commercial, I have lots of praise and just a few criticisms. First, the product. It's different, but it's not unique. It first came to DRTV in the form of Smart Inventions' Quick Chop. Oxo also sells a version. (The commercial lets on to this fact when Vince produces the original item, and then tosses it over his shoulder into the trash.) Will Vince's design and the fact that his unit cracks open for easy cleaning be different enough? We'll see. Another product weakness is the size of the chopper. Oxo rightly calls it a "mini chopper." This product can only do small jobs, so it isn't a replacement for, say, a Vidalia Chop Wizard. There may be room in the market for both, but some percentage of people are going to view this product as inferior and unnecessary."

"Just order the 'slap chop' as seen on a tv commercial. when to their web site www.slapchop.com followed the prompts. From what I can tell (as it doesn't show in the shipping and handling area the cost) they just charged me $12.95 for S&H for their $19.95 food hand chopper. It was never shown to me, only until I saw the confirmation order sent to my email address. WOW! was my expression when I saw what I was charged."
Synopsis: Despite its annoyingly d-bagging commercial host, the Slap Chop appears to work as advertised. I don't particularly care for vendors who scam consumers with exorbitant S&H costs, but if you want to save yourself some time chopping nuts [||], knock yourself out.

Final Verdict: Legitimate product.

Question: Do you own a Slap Chop? Would you buy it now?
