Uhh, seriously, why is this still considered a rivalry? Someone remind me of the last time Duke beat UNC. Has it happened in this decade? I'm not really sure. The AP says Carolina has won 6 of the last 7. I'll give Cyber CapriSuns to the person to tell me the last time the Dukies didn't get drubbed.

Either way, I'm wondering if this should really be considered a rivalry anymore. If one team wins all the time, that's not a rivalry. It's called domination.

ESPN says Ohio State/Michigan is the best current rivalry in sports. UNC/Duke is merely 3rd. Skins/Cowboys, Sox/Yankees, and Giants/Dodgers fill out the list. I could be wrong, but all of those "rivalries" seem more competitive by comparison. I'm just sayin'.

With Hansbrough (greatest collegiate player EVAR to not win a title?), Ellington, Green, and Lawson headed to The Association next year, I suppose Duke could shift the balance of power back. Then again, Bluedevil fans said the same thing when Carolina reloaded in 2005. We all know how that turned out.

Question: Should UNC/Duke still be considered a great rivalry or does Duke need to start playing NC Central, Hillside High, or some other team they can beat?

[1] Yeah this is called hyperbole. It's also called rubbing it in. Until Duke starts beating Carolina again, you might see a lot more of this.
