Sad, Mike. Just. Sad.
Now comes news that Allen Iverson, who's turning into a basketball nomad before our very eyes, has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Memphis Freakin' Grizzlies.
Man, this might be even sadder than MJ suiting up for The Wiz. At least MJ was playing in The Leastern Conference, and those Wiz teams were relatively competitive, although they just missed the playoffs both seasons. The Grizz stunk on ice last year, and with the additions of Iverson and Zach Randolph, combined with incumbent ballhogs OJ (hold the) Mayo, and Rudy (pause) Gay, could set a new record for fewest total team assists compiled during the course of an 82 game season.
I ain't even a big fan of The Answer, but seeing him go out like this is gonna be pretty brutal.
On the bright side, he could be standing in the unemployment line with Starbury. So it could be worse, although not by much.
