Ashy Or Classy?!? - Will Smith's Rappin' Kids.

Let's face it, the commercially viable side of the cRap game's been dead for awhile.[1] There's seemingly a new gimmick every week to try and pry what little money folks that still don't illegally download have to spend. And thus, it's not much of a surprise to see Will Smith's obnoxious kids[2] now layin' down tracks. They aren't the first 2nd generation rappers (Lil' Easy E, Corey Gunz, and Diggy Simmons have already been there) but they just might be the first brother and sister tandem. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyways, the girl, Willow has a "debut single" that's got the streets (aka: Black Folks Twitter) on fire right now. The song's popularity immediately resulted in Willow signing a deal with Roc Nation.[3]



All things considered, this isn't half bad. Seriously, why doesn't sound any worse than Lil' Mama. Hell, I don't know if she's even technically rappin' here, but even if she's singing (with lots of autotune) is this any worse than Rihanna's typical playlist-friendly drivel? I think not. I could see my 6 year old niece with this on her iPod Touch. Willow's not half bad.

Question: Do either of the Smith kids have talent on the mic, or is this just another case of nepotism gone bad? Who's got more skillz, Jaiden or Willow?

[1] To me, the official R.I.P. date was that terrible Flo Rida/Will.I.Am song, but that's just my opinion.

[2] I didn't think it was humanly possible to out-obnoxious Jada, but these kids did it.

[3] I'm sure J. Cole is overjoyed that this vanity children's project is gonna be competing with his debut album for marketing dollars, but that's neither here nor there.
