Floyd "Money" Mayweather: Racist Jackass Or Brilliant Marketing?!?

I'm not the biggest Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan, even though I obviously am pretty big on boxing. The reasons are simple: he runs his mouth too much, and he's too tiny a fighter for me to actually enjoy watching. Sorry, watching two guys the size of my 12-year old nephew battle it out just isn't worth $59.95. But that's just me.

Mayweather and fellow tiny man Manny Pacquiao have been in the midst of some strange cat & mouse posturing to drive up interest and of course, the payout for their inevitable matchup. Depending on what you read, Pac Man's either doping, or Floyd is avoiding him. I couldn't care less, I just know my wife will host a fight party when they eventually work out the kinks, so I better come up with that $59.95 either way.

Anyways, Mayweather's typical swagged out routine took a turn for the waaay worst recently when he took to the streets (aka: UStream) and aired out Pacquiao with some very racially inflamed language.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s apology for his racist rant against Manny Pacquiao hasn't appeased the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA). The private, non-profit organization has condemned Mayweather's outburst and is calling for boxing commissions to censure the fighter.

The NaFFAA also urged the NAACP and other civil rights organizations to denounce "this racist and homophobic rant" because "Mayweather's apology is unacceptable and he must be made accountable for his damaging statements."

Mayweather referred to Pacquiao as a "yellow chump." He also said he was going to "stomp the midget" and force Pacquiao to "make some sushi rolls and cook some rice" and then "we're going to cook him with some cats and dogs."

Seriously, in 2010, what sorta Negro is dumb enough to go around spewing Asian stereotypes? That's just stoopid, totally insensitive, and completely out of bounds. Had Pac Man made a similar video telling Mayweather to go steal a car stereo, Money would be calling Rebb'n Al right now. Of course, Mayweather gave a BS apology, in which he really just said he was sorry for anyone he might have offended, not sorry for suggesting that Pac Man go somewhere and find him a pitbull to cook up for dinner.

Classy.

Question: What (if any) punishment should boxing levy on Mayweather for these comments? Should the NAACP "denounce" these comments? Were they said purely in jest (to promote the fight) and thus permissible, or out of complete and total ignorance?
