It hasn't been The Best Week Evar for our boy Barry.
He returned home from Europe looking Presidential with a huge bounce in the polls. But then Cotton Hill McCain's campaign decided to get dirty, and run some completely distorted ads comparing Barry to Paris Hilton. He had to deal with some completely unnecessary BS with a second rate rapper. And then some bamas in Florida ambushed him on some completely uncalled for Nigga Nonsense. The next thing you know, The Beige One finds himself in an inexplicable dead heat.[2]
Yep, I'm guessing Barry would like the Olympics to start right about now.
[Somewhat Related Side-note: Ya'll reamed me new one last week for suggesting that the GOP's push for offshore drilling wasn't too bad an idea, provided it wasn't the only idea. Well, turns out Barry "reconsidered" this and now is including some offshore drilling in his recently revealed comprehensive energy package. How ya' like me now?!?!]
Not to be outdone, or forgotten, is the Original Black President himself, who is clearly not happy being outside the spotlight.
Bill Clinton regrets some things he said - and didn't say - on the campaign trail. But there's one thing he still can't utter: Barack Obama is ready to be President.I don't really know what to make of this "I'm not racist, you've heard of Vernon Jordan, haven't you?" tour that Bill Clinton's been on this week. Interestingly, he finds himself in Rwanda right now, sorta apologizing, but not really apologizing for being completely asleep at the wheel during his time in office, as genocide exploded there. So you'd think that this guy would perhaps be somewhat humble now.
"You can argue that nobody is ready to be President," the former President told ABC News.
"You can argue that even if you've been vice president for eight years, that no one can be fully ready for the pressures of the office," Clinton said Monday during a visit to Rwanda. That's probably not what Team Obama wanted to hear from the former commander in chief, whose role in Obama's election push and at the Democratic National Convention remains in flux.
Clinton and his wife argued in nearly every speech that she was ready tobe President on day one.
Clinton said he wished he could have a few of his words back. "There are things that I wished I urged her to do, things I wished I said, things I wished I hadn't said," Clinton said. But he defended his record on race. "I am not a racist - I never made a racist comment and I didn't attack him personally," Clinton said.
Uhhh, not so much.
What really kills me is that Bill Clinton (and Hillary to a lesser degree) seems to think he's actually got a choice and some say-so into whether or not he supports Obama. I thought this was about the party, and ultimately the America people, not Bubba's hurt feelings. That "me first" selfishness is the reason why Clinton has singlehandedly tarnished his own largely inflated reputation as a President, and why his wife's campaign, despite a huge advantage in political machinery, ultimately lost to a freshman Senator.
The nerve of these bamas, like they have an "option" to support Barack or not.
