Cool your heels folks, I'm not talkin' about anything sexist, I'm talkin' about the Duke Blue Devils' 80-49 defeat of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose the other night in Durham. This game unofficially signalled the start of the college basketball season.
Since we're talkin' about "hose", could someone explain to be my in the ham sammich someone would name their school mascot the "hose"? Yeah, I get it, it's no different than calling yourself the Red Sox or White Sox, but seriously, "hose"? Did they not realize the possibility for unintentional comedy?
I can already hear the chants from opposing teams...

This naturally sickens my stomach because I'm a Tarheel fan. My Dad raised me and my brothers on Tarheel Blue, I was practically genetically predisposed to root for UNC.
The Heels are predicted by most critics to win it all this year. They've got a stacked team lead by senior big man Tyler Hansbrough and an awesome class of incoming freshmen. Then again, we were picked to win it all last year, but Kansas had other ideas.
I still have nightmares about that game 8 months later. Hopefully the guys have learned from that arse-whipping and come back stronger this season.
Anyways, since it's that time of year, I figured I'd take you guys' predictions. Tell me who you wit' while you're at it.
